I am Kim Suk-Kyung, Dean of the College of Human Ecology at Yonsei University.

As of 2023, Yonsei University's College of Human Ecology is Korea's best college in this academic domain, with the legacy of 60 years. The College houses five departments that are Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Interior Architecture and Built Environment, Child and Family Studies, and Integrated Design. Based on these five departments, the College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, both masters' and doctoral, through Yonsei Graduate School and professional master's degree through Graduate School of Living Environment. In this background, the best professors, students, and alumni are supporting together.

The Masters' and Ph.D. degrees in Yonsei Graduate School foster researchers and educators in the five academic areas and the Graduate School of Living Environment fosters professionals in related fields. It is the best College of Human Ecology in Korea, and it is a prestigious college that has steadily built up an international reputation so that numerous international students study.

In this Yonsei University College of Human Ecology, from the 2nd semester of 2022, most classes are conducted face-to-face, and from the 1st semester of 2023, various events such as freshman orientation and a freshman workshop are conducted face-to-face. We are facing a new normal era where new leaps are expected.

Our Collge has been emphasizing sustainability, health and wellbeing, quality of life, 4th industrial revolution and technology, and convergence, in education and research. You can see that these keywords are often used when referring to social needs that are emphasized after COVID-19 in various media recently. This shows that our college has already been preparing for the future society and making efforts.

At this time when everyone is preparing for a new leap forward, Yonsei University's College of Human Ecology is already educating leaders who will lead the future in the new normal era based on its 60-year tradition and conducting various research to prepare for the future society. In addition, the departments that runs the BK program trains talented people expected by the future society and innovative talents who can solve social problems, and related research is actively conducted at graduate schools.
